wayfarer's shadows

winter's palette is rich now. a warp of gray, a weft of peace
deep reflections, long shadows.
on my daily walks I pause to ponder wayfarer's footprints.
on a path, a destination. do they know where, I wonder?
imagining how it must be to travel undercover.
are we hooked on one path? can we brave a changed course?
let go of linear thinking?

standing in my own shadow, a wayfarer too,
I see two trails, one east one west,
and find myself these days
braving new paths undiscovered.
most exciting. always challenging.

  1. beautiful and rich and full of entrancement for you.

  2. Sounds like you might be thinking about making some unique tracks of your own...maybe you'll be taking the trail less traveled? ;>}

  3. looking forward to some trails intermingling soon

  4. Winter, it's just the perfect time for deep thoughts, making plans and tracks!

  5. Velma, you are right, alright.
    Christi, thinking that path, still in the brambles. know it!
    Theresa, it is the true gift of winter, as you know.

  6. Beautiful photos Nancy! New paths eh? Looking forward to what they might be and where they will take you. :-)
