early chill, possible frost.
the days are getting shorter
our friends are in full awareness
grateful for just another pasture rotation
and a few windfall apples
they know to soak up the sun.
a mid-afternoon frolick
pasture still wet from Irene's path
meets the fall sun
You aren't kidding about chilly! Throwing a sheet over my late tomatoes and bringing my basil in. So not ready for this.
ReplyDeleteStill fairly warm here in Lincolnshire. Having said that, trees are changing colour and losing leaves. And, I was a bit late collecting Bullaces as many were past it when I got them last weekend. Eileen cooked them up. We had some as a topping for our yoghurt and the rest are in the freezer.

ReplyDeleteManise, isn't it nice that we can savor the seasons and know when it's time to gather and hunker....looks like we are in for a bit of a reprieve now.
